Each page of your site should only contain one central topic or theme to help break up content and to make it easier for people to find. Tree safe zone
On a website you aren’t restricted by the amount of pages you have to use so make use of the freedom! It’s far better to break content down into a section full of multiple short pages with useful titles than one long page that covers many different topics. Help your audience
Even if a number of topics are closely related they can still be spread across different pages. If you were to write an article about cats and dogs as pets, it would be better to break it down into two pages, one on cats and one on dogs. Benefits for youFollowing the rule of one topic per page will help you as a website owner for a number of reasons such as:
Pages can still link
Remember, you can link pages together in sections. Even by splitting articles across multiple pages they can still be linked together both in terms of the actual links from page to page and in the writing itself. There is no harm in referring to another page or explaining that the article continues on another page as long as it is clear how to access it.
